Administration
Job Description Systems Engineering (60%)
Plan, document, configure, deploy and administer Linux and Windows
2000 / 2003 Servers.
Plan, document, configure, deploy and administer F5 Networks BigIP and
3DNS Traffic Management Appliances.
Plan, document, configure, deploy and administer BEA WebLogic and
JBoss Application Servers.
Plan, document, configure, deploy and administer IIS and Apache Web
Servers.
Plan, document, configure, and deploy J2EE application servers and
business applications in non-production and production environments
Work with cross-functional Project Teams, Software Architecture and
Engineering teams to design and deploy new systems.
Work with various engineering teams to troubleshoot environments and
applications.
Work with Software Configuration Management and Release Management
teams to configure and deploy systems according to change management
policy.
Perform capacity and availability analysis and management functions.
Respond to service incidents and requests in a timely manner.
Respond to emergency deployment and configuration change requests.
Evaluate technologies, design solutions, and develop proposals.
Analyze data, define and analyze metrics, produce reports, identify
and recommend improvements.
Develop / Maintain Policy, Process and Procedure Documentation.

Guides, Network and Deployment Diagrams.
Develop / Maintain Automation Scripts, Build / Configuration Tools and

Write and submit weekly status reports.
Provide technical expertise to less experienced staff in support
tasks.
Manage projects and implementations.
On a regular basis communicate with manager and discuss ongoing
activities and escalate issues.

Technical Analysis and System Monitoring (20%)
Monitor the health of all RES, RES Values, and Loan Performance
applications and servers in the production and customer staging
environments using Topaz and Sitescope monitoring tools.
Coordinate SEV1 and SEV2 escalation procedures as documented in the
SWAT SLA.
Coordinate, send an/or update the Production/SWAT Alert sent out by IT
Service Center on issues impacting production and/or customer staging
environments.
Understand the RES Issue Management Tracker tool for handling ICPs.
Understand the system architecture for each application under the
three different business platforms.
Maintain good internal customer relations by being proactive with
issues and managing expectations.
Report outstanding issues to the RES SWAT organization on a daily
basis.
System Scheduling (10%)
Learn the Control-M software in order to understand and navigate
through the scheduling calendar in relation to the Keystone daily and
weekend schedules.
Work with IT Service Center to ensure jobs are properly scheduled in
the Control-M calendar.
Ensure job changes to the Control-M calendar are properly scheduled.
Utilize the Control-M software on a daily basis to observe, note, and
investigate any failed jobs or out of the ordinary situations with
scheduled jobs.
Monitor the daily and weekend production schedule to ensure all
necessary maintenance, batch, and online tasks are accomplished in the
given window.
Document a brief status report on a daily basis of any non-completed
jobs and the reasons for incompletion.
Monitor the Active Control-M window periodically to observe scheduled
jobs and ensure they are running properly.
Ensure all production systems are monitored and appropriate alerts are
sent to a well maintained distribution list.

Adapt to the RES environment quickly and be able to communicate with
variety of teams and people.
Be the point of contact for IT Service Center, UNIX, NT, development,
customer support, external/internal users, QA, etc when activities are
implemented during non-business hours.
Send out appropriate notification to appropriate team and/or
individuals when activities impacting production and/or customer
staging environments are scheduled.
Notify appropriate personnel and team when emergency situations impact
them directly or indirectly.
Submit appropriate ICPs and coordinate approvals as necessary to
