Position: Developer/Application Analyst
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: Long Term
Rate: $45/hr (Not Negotiable)

Essentially this is a developer/application analyst/high level support role.
(Need someone who has come up as a developer who is now capable and well skilled enough to bounce from issue to issue in a high level support role – interfacing with all levels of customers).

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES
§ Able to work with the business community to gather and analyze the business requirements and create technical / functional specifications; performs the development and implementation of these specifications into code.
§ Ability to apply System Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) methodology to produce quality technical products and solutions that are aligned with business/IT strategies and comply with corporate architectural standards.
§ Strong ability to analyze functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions
§ Analyzes complex performance and capacity issues with systems / applications software and/or application components
§ Handles multifaceted operational tasks and recommends processing and technology changes
§ Leads evaluations of systems / applications software technologies
§ Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses a strong understanding of business requirements and IT strategies.
§ Creates and maintains project plans; able to identify dependencies.
§ Works independently on moderately complex analysis.
§ Looks beyond symptoms to identify causes of problems and potential trends.
§ Develops ways to improve processes, products and/or service to customers.
§ Balances multiple demands and competing priorities. Knows how to prioritize assignments.
§ Organizes, facilitates and drives delivery of quality application support.
§ Possess strong design skills, e.g., database, interface files, application development, etc.
§ Manages self in the execution of multiple short tasks with little or no supervision; may lead a small team and escalate where other resources are needed.
§ Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma and SDLC processes, as well as process methodologies.
§ Creates strategic planning documents; able to identify alternative strategies.
§ With no supervision, completes systems / applications software development functions and ensures accuracy of work, performing trend analysis for continuous improvement.
§ Leverages technical experience to provide solid recommendations on efficiency in problem solving
§ Report to the Program Manager and Sponsors regarding task assignments, escalation of issues, and adherence to TIAA standards
§ Works collaboratively with IT Project Manager regarding timelines, release management, and deliverables
§ Resolves application and technical problems
§ Operates independently in performing complex applications software development functions
§ Participates on project teams; leading the technical implementation effort and working collaboratively with the system integrator vendor, business community, and other IT developers
§ Analyzes performance and capacity issues with systems / applications software and/or application components
KNOWLEDGE
§ Strong knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses a strong understanding of programming languages and development tools.
§ Knowledge of full life-cycle development processes (requirement elicitation, design, coding, deployment, documentation and etc.,)
§ Strong technical knowledge and experience with application development, implementation, and production support.
§ Strong working knowledge of application development / analysis and the Information Technology industry; understands their role in supporting business requirements / technical solutions
§ Leverages good design understanding and/or capabilities (e.g., database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment
§ Possesses a good understanding of business requirements and IT strategies; draws on broad knowledge base (e.g., infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze problems of moderate complexity and contribute to troubleshooting efforts
§ Knowledge of Web applications, architecture and relational database concepts
§ Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve business and/or technical problems
§ Good understanding of development technology used to support one or more business operations areas.
§ Good understanding of project management disciplines.
§ Knowledge of analytics/data warehousing capabilities
§ Knowledge of Service Now and Informatica a plus
EXPERIENCE
§ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
§ Six to ten years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis
§ Experience designing, developing, and testing computer programs and/or application components
§ Experience with Programming Languages such as those outlines in Technical Skills.
§ ServiceNow development experience a plus.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
§ Hands-on programming and design experience and be able to read procedural and object-oriented application codes
§ Programming/Scripting Languages (must have): Core Java SE , JavaScript, MS-SQL, PL/SQL,
§ Programming/Scripting Languages (nice to have): Service Now development experience, Visual Basic.NET, HTML, XML, COBOL, UNIX Scripting, Crystal, Informatica ETL and ColdFusion.
§ Databases: MS SQL Server and Oracle
§ Application Servers: BEA WebLogic Server and Apache Tomcat
§ Development Tools: Eclipse, Informatica, Visual Studio.NET, Toad, Visio, StarTeam, Caliber and Crystal Report
§ Plus-to-have: UML, XML, AJAX and solid knowledge of OOAD
