QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate should possess minimum aggregate of 60 % marks (50% for SC/ST
candidates) in the qualifying degree as mentioned below:
1. Full time four year B.E. / B.Tech. in the discipline of Electronics /
Telecommunications / Electronics & Telecommunications / Computer Science /
Information Technology
Or
2. Two years full time Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) / Masters in
Computer Systems (MCS)
Or
3. Two years full time course in Masters in Business Administrations (MBA) /
Masters in Management Studies (MMS) with information Technology or Systems
or Computer Science as specialization or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years (excluding Project Work which is a part of course
curriculum) in one or more skill sets as mentioned below:

Government Directives)
SELECTION:
Test/ Interview:
Candidates fulfilling all of the above criteria will be eligible for
appearing for the Test (objective type) comprising of two parts - General
Aptitude and Academic/Subject Knowledge. The candidates will be called for
the Personal Interview as per the policy of the Corporation.
All the candidates are requested to remain updated on details of Tests,
Interview, venue etc by visiting HPCL website. Facility of downloading Admit
cards & Specimen questions will also be provided on HPCL website.
Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in the Test and Personal
Interview. Subsequently, candidates will be required to undergo medical
examination. Reference for a medical examination does not mean final
selection, which may please be noted. The final selection / Offer of
Employment will be based on the candidate's score in Test, personal
interview, being declared as Medically Fit by HPCL Designated Physician and
subject to fulfillment of other eligibility criteria wrt Academic
Qualification, Age, Caste, NOC, Relieving letter etc. as may be applicable.
The date for the Test will be communicated in due course.
EMOLUMENTS AND PLACEMENTS :
These positions are in Management Cadre in "A" grade in the Salary Scale of
Rs.12000 – 17500 (under revision) plus VDA, HRA, CCA, etc. and other
perquisites as applicable to particular grade. The CTC would be appx.
Rs.7.00 lakhs per annum. Posting can be in any Division/Department of the
Corporation at any place in the country/otherwise and the services
thereafter will be transferable as required by the Corporation. These
positions would involve working in shift duties.
RELAXATION / CONCESSIONS:
Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / Persons with
disabilities (degree of disability 40% or above) as per Government
Directives.
Age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD
candidates – as applicable.
Age relaxation by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir
between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989.
Age relaxation by 5 years for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers
(including ECOs / SSCOs) subject to rendering minimum 5 years military
service and fulfillment of other conditions prescribed by Govt. of India.
Exemption from payment of application fee for SC/ST and PWD candidates.
Minimum standard of 60% marks in aggregate in the qualifying degree is
relaxed to 50% for SC/ST candidates.
Relaxed standards in Test, Personal Interview and overall (Test & Personal
Interview) will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Reimbursement of 2nd class rail fare by the shortest route to Test centre
for outstation SC/ST & PWD candidates appearing for Test, provided the
distance travelled is not less than 30 kms. (Candidates opting for Test
centre other than the centre nearest from mailing address will not be paid
Travel Allowance).
HOW TO APPLY :
Apply online through www.hindustanpetroleum.com.Online submission of the
application will be allowed on the website up to 24th February, 2009.
Steps For Applying:
STEP 1: Login to www.hindustanpetroleum.com and click on Career
Opportunities. Further click on link – Information Systems officer.
STEP 2: Read all the instructions given on the website.
STEP 3: GEN and OBC candidates are required to send a crossed Demand Draft
for Rs.500/- as Application Fee drawn on "HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION
LIMITED" payable at Mumbai. Candidates must write their name, Position,
discipline and application no. on the reverse of Demand Draft. MO/IPO or any
other mode of payment will not be accepted. Applications of General and OBC
candidates without Demand Draft will not be considered.
STEP 4: Fill in the online form with all the relevant details.
STEP 5: Click SUBMIT. Take a print of the application form and affix
passport size photograph and sign the form in the space provided for the
same. Please ensure to preserve a copy of this application form for future
references.
STEP 6: Attach the DD send the same by ordinary post to Post Box No. 11402,
Marine Lines Post Office, Mumbai - 400020, to reach on or before 2nd March,
2009. DD is not applicable for SC/ST/PWD candidates and are required to
attach documents supporting the category (SC/ST/PWD as applicable) along
with the application form.
Please superscribe on the envelope "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF INFORMATION
SYSTEMS OFFICER".
Candidate should take special care, NOT to staple the Demand Draft. They
should use u-pins or steel pins for fastening all documents / demand drafts.
(Please retain a copy of the application form with unique application no.
and also a copy of the demand draft for future reference). Only original
print out of application form (no photocopy) shall be accepted.
The candidates whose application forms are received after due date shall not
be considered.
Application form received with a single Demand Draft containing the
application fees of two or more candidates or photocopies of Demand Drafts
attached with the application form will not be considered.
STEP 7: Various intimations, schedules/dates can be accessed through HPCL
website. Please mention correct and active e-mail ID, contact nos. for
various communications.
Call letter for Test along with specimen questions shall be sent by post to
the candidate's mailing address. An admit card which is sent to the
candidate along with the call letter has to be duly signed by the candidate
and photograph affixed, and has to be produced at the time of Test.
HPCL will not be responsible for any loss of email/admit card sent, due to
invalid/wrong email id/wrong postal address/postal delays/loss in transit
etc.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Indian Nationals only need to apply.
All the qualifications should be full time regular course/s from a
recognized Indian University/ Institute.
Candidates are requested to apply for one position (Legal or Information
systems officer) only.
For the purpose of scrutiny, the corporation may call for the relevant
documents wrt Date of birth, Academic qualification, category etc. at any
stage of selection process.
Reimbursement of 2nd class rail fare by the shortest route for all
outstation candidates who have been shortlisted for Personal Interview will
be reimbursed, provided the distance travelled is not less than 30 kms. The
candidates will be required to fill in the Travelling Allowance form at the
respective Interview centre and submit proof for travel undertaken.
Depending on the requirement, the corporation reserves the right to
cancel/restrict/curtail/enlarge the recruitment process, if need so arises,
without any further notice and without assigning any reason thereof.
Candidates presently employed in Government Departments / PSU's /
Autonomous Bodies have to route their application through proper channel or
produce NOC at the time of interview, failing which their candidature will
not be entertained.
Wherever CGPA or Letter Grade in a degree is awarded, its equivalent
percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms
adopted by University/Institute.
Applications with incomplete / wrong particulars or not in the prescribed
format will not be considered.
Request for change of centre for Test shall not be considered. However
HPCL reserves the right to cancel or add any centre depending on the
response in that area/centre.
The online registration site would remain open upto 24th February, 2009.
All the details given in the online form will be treated as final and no
changes will be entertained.
While applying for above post, the applicant must ensure that he/she fulfils
the eligibility and other norms mentioned above, as on the specified dates
and the particulars furnished are correct in all respects. In case it is
detected at any stage of recruitment / selection that a candidate does not
fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he/she has furnished any
incorrect / false information or has suppressed any material fact(s),
his/her candidature will automatically stand cancelled. If any of the above
shortcoming(s) is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services are
liable to be terminated without any notice.
